June 14, 2022 SAVE Act
The American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) strongly supports the Safety from Violence for Healthcare Employees (SAVE) Act of 2022, which would make it a federal crime to assault or intimidate a hospital employee. Thank you for your leadership in offering health care workers the same protections as aircraft and airport workers. As the professional organization of the more than 11,000 nurse leaders who manage and provide patient care across the health care continuum, AONL is the voice of nursing leadership and an affiliate of the American Hospital Association.
Sept. 17, 2021 Build Back Better Maternal Health Stakeholders Letter
The 244 undersigned organizations, dedicated to the health and well-being of birthing people and their families, write to express our enthusiastic support and appreciation for the maternal health provisions included in the Committee on Energy and Commerce print of the Build Back Better Act. We appreciate the Committee’s demonstrated commitment to addressing our nation’s maternal mortality crisis, which disproportionately impacts Black and Indigenous people, through bold policies that will help us ensure that pregnant and postpartum people have access to critical resources, health care coverage, community-based and social supports, and the high quality health care they need in order to thrive. We urge you to swiftly enact these provisions and send them to the President’s desk. Our nation’s moms depend on it.

May 4, 2020 Health Organizations Support DACA
Nearly 30,000 DACA recipients work as health care professionals across the United States. Rescinding DACA and the corresponding work authorizations for these providers would reduce our nation’s health care capacity at a time we can ill-afford to lose valuable personnel.
