What motivated you to apply for the FAONL designation?
I was motivated to apply for FAONL Designation because it reflects my commitment to nursing leadership, professional excellence, and meaningful contributions to the advancement of healthcare. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated not only to achieving strong outcomes within my own organization, but also to mentoring others, leading innovation, and helping shape the future of the nursing profession. Pursuing FAONL Designation felt like a natural extension of that commitment, as it recognizes sustained leadership, service, and impact at a broader level. I also saw it as an opportunity to align myself with other accomplished nurse leaders who are driving positive change and elevating standards across the profession.

How has being an FAONL designee impacted your leadership journey and leadership style?
Being an FAONL designee has strengthened my leadership journey by affirming my commitment to excellence, service, and continued growth as a nurse leader. What advice would you give to someone working towards achieving FAONL status?
My advice to someone working toward achieving FAONL status is to become actively involved in AONL at both the local and national levels, beginning as a member and then seeking opportunities to serve in leadership roles such as an officer. Attend AONL conferences annually, contribute to committees, and take advantage of opportunities to present, collaborate, and engage in the professional activities AONL offers. Consistent involvement not only strengthens your qualifications for FAONL, but also helps you grow as a leader, expand your network, and make meaningful contributions to the profession.
