Leading Nursing Ambient Documentation: Governance, Workflow and Adoption

This session will explore how nurse leaders can guide ambient nursing documentation from pilot design to sustainable implementation. Presenters will share lessons from rapid ambient documentation work, including governance, decision-making structures, workflow validation, change management and direct care nurse adoption. The session will highlight how ambient technology can capture nurse-patient conversations in real time and generate structured flowsheet documentation to reduce cognitive burden and reclaim time for direct patient care. Participants will hear practical strategies for engaging clinical champions, measuring outcomes and scaling documentation innovation across the enterprise.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Describe leadership, governance and direct care team member engagement strategies that support successful adoption and sustainable scaling of ambient nursing documentation.
