Peripheral IV catheter (PIVC) infections are an underrecognized but growing patient safety concern that requires leadership attention. This webinar will examine the risks associated with PIVCs, explore potential changes to reporting requirements, and share how one facility is proactively monitoring and preventing infections. Nurse leaders will gain actionable insights to strengthen infection prevention strategies and improve patient outcomes.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Explain the scope and potential impact of peripheral IV catheter infections on patient safety and quality of care.
  2. Define practical steps to begin monitoring peripheral IV infections and identify prevention strategies to reduce risk.
