AONL Learning Portal Transition FAQ

AONL is transitioning to a new Learning Management System (LMS). To ensure a smooth transition, learners should log into their learning portal to download any certificates they wish to keep and complete coursework they are actively working on before December 20, 2026.

Key date

Download certificates and finish coursework before December 20, 2026.

Q: When is the LMS transition happening?

The transition to AONL's new LMS begins on December 20, 2026. Learners will not have access to the current LMS or their contact hour certificates after this date.

Q: What should I do before December 20, 2026?

AONL strongly recommends that you:

  1. Download and save all certificates you wish to keep
  2. Complete any coursework that is already in progress
  3. Save certificates outside of the LMS for your records

Q: Will I still have access to my program after the transition?

Yes, after a short blackout period, learners will continue to have access to their active programs in the new LMS.

Q: How will I know when the new LMS is available?

AONL will communicate important transition updates, including launch information and access instructions, through email and learner communications. Be sure your email information is current and watch for updates.

Q: What information will NOT transfer?

The following items will not transfer to the new LMS:

  • Course progress from partially completed or completed coursework
  • Attendance records used to generate certificates in the current LMS

If these items are not completed or downloaded before the transition, they will not be available in the new platform.

Q: What happens if I'm only partially through a course?

Course progress will not transfer to the new LMS. If a course is not completed before December 20, you will need to restart from the beginning in the new LMS.

Q: Will I receive extra time because of the transition?

Yes. In the new LMS, learners will receive a complimentary three-month extension beyond their scheduled access period to help support completion and continued access to course materials.

Q: What if I forget to download my certificates?

Certificates will not transfer to the new LMS, and certificates stored in the current LMS will no longer be accessible after the transition. If you need a copy of a certificate, be sure to download and save it before December 20, 2026. AONL will not be able to retrieve certificates from the current LMS after the transition.

Q: Who should I contact if I have questions?

For questions related to the LMS transition, certificates, or learner access, contact the AONL Education Team, AONLEducation@aha.org.
