ANA NursePitch provides platform for nurse innovators

Placing first in the NursePitch event at the American Nurses Association (ANA) 2019 Quality and Innovation Conference not only earned Lisa Ousley, DNP, FNP, $7,500 in seed money; it also gave her a platform for developing her innovation: models of skin lesions that can be used to teach students to recognize melanoma and other diseases. The event, which debuted this April, gave five nurses the opportunity to compete for mentorship as well as money. Ousley says the contest provided her with a platform for perfecting her pitch and encouragement to take the idea forward. The ANA will post information about the next NursePitch on the organization’s innovation webpage. (Nurse.com story, 6/26/19)
