HHS will accept nominations to Quality Summit during July

Pursuant to President Trump’s executive order directing federal agencies to develop a Health Quality Roadmap, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has formed a Quality Summit, which will bring together industry stakeholders and government leaders to evaluate the quality of HHS-administered programs. HHS Deputy Secretary Eric Hargan and quality and safety expert Peter Pronovost, PhD, MD, will chair the Summit. The department will accept nominations for additional participants through July 31. The department says the ultimate goal of the initiative is to streamline HHS programs “to deliver a value-based care model focused on improving outcomes for American patients.” (HHS news release, 7/9/19)
