AONL Committees and Task Forces

2024 Application Submissions are now closed

Become an AONL decision-maker

Members help AONL meet the ever-changing needs of nursing leadership by volunteering their service and expertise. Driven by the AONL strategic plan, committees and task forces work to meet the needs of the field. The AONL Foundation offers volunteer opportunities for members and supporters.

Eligibility: AONL members are eligible to submit a volunteer form to participate on a committee or task force. We strongly encourage submissions from a wide variety of backgrounds (e.g. practice setting, location, role in the organization, specialization, race, ethnicity, gender identity, age, experience, sexual orientation). Everyone must submit a form to be considered, even if you have served previously.

Time Commitment: Although the scope of each committee and task force can vary widely depending on the nature of the work, most groups will meet monthly (or quarterly) for an hour-long video conference call. The calls generally take place between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT. Prior to the first committee meeting, the staff liaison will reach out to selected committee members regarding specific project expectations and assignments. Most committee and taskforce members serve in their roles for two-year terms.

Other Engagement Opportunities: If none of the committees listed below is the right fit for you at this time, there are other opportunities to get involved with AONL! Learn more.
