NCSBN offers error-tracking tool to nursing programs

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is inviting nursing programs to participate in a study of nursing student errors and near misses. Its purpose is to collect baseline, aggregate data that could one day inform the development of prevention strategies. NCSBN will provide schools with Safe Student Reports (SSR), an innovative tool for tracking errors and near misses. Individual program data will be accessible only to the programs that provide it, and all data will be protected by an NIH Certificate of Confidentiality. Program leaders that want to learn more should contact Nancy Spector, PhD, RN, at nspector@ncsbn.org.(AACN News story, 6/12/19)
