AHA to mark 10th #HAVhope Friday in June
The American Hospital Association invites nursing leaders to participate in its 10th annual Hospitals Against Violence Initiative’s #HAVhope National Day of Awareness on June 5. The AHA encourages nurse leaders to share photos and success stories in preventing violence, as well as their hospital’s efforts to strengthen safety. Nurse leaders can download a toolkit to share #HAVhope messages across social media. They also can ask their members of Congress to support the Save Healthcare Workers Act (H.R. 3178/S. 1600), a bipartisan bill that would make it a federal crime to assault hospital workers, similar to federal law protecting airline and airport workers. More information on #HAVhope day is available on the AHA website. (AHA News article, 5/13/26)
