AONL Continues Urging Members to Tell Congress to Reject Medicaid Cuts
AONL urges members to contact their Congressional elected representatives, asking them to vote against any proposed Medicaid cuts in the budget reconciliation bill. The Senate is expected to vote as early as this weekend on its bill, which likely would lead to more coverage losses and reduced access to care and services than the House-passed bill. The American Hospital Association this week launched a TV ad in the Washington, D.C. region and digital ads urging Congress to protect access to hospital care. It released videos describing how Medicaid protects pregnant women and the elderly and how cuts could affect nursing and other health care jobs. Sixteen House Republicans sent a letter to the House Speaker and Senate Majority Leader urging them to support the House-passed bill.
