AdventHealth’s clinical ladder program reduces nurse turnover

AdventHealth’s clinical ladder program reduced nurse turnover from a high of 31.5% to 4.8%, according to System CNE and Associate Chief Clinical Officer Trish Celano, MSN, RN, an AONL member. In addition, nurses participating in the clinical ladder program have a less than 6% turnover. Initially launched at six hospitals, the Orlando, Fla.-based health system expanded the clinical ladder program to all 56 hospitals. The program creates a structure for nurses to advance and receive recognition while remaining at the bedside. It also includes a self-care component. She advises CNOs interested in launching similar programs to do so electronically. (HealthLeaders Media article, 1/26/26)
