Begley Discusses Needed Skills for Clinicians in AHA report

To help members navigate challenges related to recruiting, training, retaining and managing a qualified and engaged workforce, the American Hospital Association (AHA) released its 2021 Health Care Talent Scan. The report draws on published data and provides insights from industry leaders, including Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, AONL CEO and AHA senior vice president and chief nursing officer. Begley offered observations on the technical and soft skills clinicians now need to successfully employ telehealth and conduct virtual assessments. She also stressed the importance of engaging clinicians in the technology procurement process and making sure they understand big data management, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity risks in the context of health care.
