Digital communications systems can improve staff nurse experience, study finds

Nurse leaders can leverage digital communications systems as a practical, inexpensive, workforce-management tool to improve staff experience, a study found. Published in the September issue of Nurse Leader, the authors analyzed whether a digital communication platform to improve internal communication, coordination and workflow efficiency was associated with job satisfaction among 29 nurses and healthcare assistants in a specialty care center. They found satisfaction rose 15.8 points to 73.9% after implementation, with larger gains among staff with higher digital competence. The authors encourage nurse leaders to integrate a digital-readiness assessment and structured implementation strategies when introducing new communication technologies. (Nurse Leader article, 9/7/26)
