Foster G. McGaw Prize applications open

The application period for the American Hospital Association 2027 Foster G. McGaw Prize is open until May 5. The prize recognizes hospitals’ outstanding efforts to improve the health and well-being of all people in their communities. A blog by Doug Brown, partner with Manatt Health and chair of this year’s prize committee, provides examples of how hospitals engage with their communities to promote health. They include an adaptive sports program allowing children with severe physical impairments to enjoy skiing, rock climbing, basketball and water skiing, and a program for teens to perform clinical rotations in the hospital, meet with staff, observe surgeries and develop skills to be future health care leaders.
