Guide helps hospitals to evaluate workforce well-being programs

The American Hospital Association and four other organizations released a guide offering healthcare leaders a framework to build evaluation into well-being initiatives from the start. The guide enables leaders to identify meaningful evidence and make more informed, evidence-based decisions about where to invest time, resources and support. The guide can help determine whether leaders need qualitative feedback, descriptive data or evidence of impact based on the decision they are trying to make. Healthcare leaders who use the guide will be able to determine when to continue, refine, scale, better target or discontinue an initiative based on evidence. The Coalition for Physician & APP Well-Being, Advent Health in Altamonte Springs, Fla., Providence Health in Renton, Wash., and Atalan in Milwaukee, Wis., also sponsored the guide.
