HHS, CMS to form advisory committee

The Health and Human Services Department announced the creation of a health care advisory committee to provide recommendations to HHS and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on topics including preventing chronic disease, reducing regulatory burden, enabling data interoperability and identifying opportunities to improve quality in the Medicaid program. Aligned with the Make America Healthy Again Commission, the committee will consist of 15 health care experts. HHS released a notice requesting nominations. Individuals have until Sept. 22 to self-nominate or be nominated by an organization. HHS will select members later this year. (HHS news release, 08/21/25)
