HRSA will provide $100 million to grow nursing workforce

The Health Resources and Services Administration last week awarded $64.8 million to programs to train advanced practice nurses to provide primary care, mental health care and maternal care. In addition, the agency awarded $8.7 million to programs to train licensed practical nurses to become registered nurses and $26.5 million for programs to provide and forgive loans for students who become nurse faculty. The investments will address the increasing demand for RNs, nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and nurse faculty, the agency says. (HHS news release, 8/10/23)
