Inflation Reduction Act extends insurance subsidies, addresses drug prices

Last weekend, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act (H.R. 5376) by a vote of 51-50. This legislation will help lower the cost of prescription drugs and provide a three-year extension to a program that helps reduce health care premiums. It also includes other health care provisions and contains measures related to climate, domestic energy production and manufacturing. The bill now heads to the House, which is expected to pass it.
