Joint Commission, Coalition for Health AI partner for AI guidance
The Joint Commission and the Coalition for Health AI will partner to accelerate the development and adoption of artificial intelligence best practices and guidance across the U.S. health care system. The organizations will co-develop a suite of AI playbooks, tools and a certification program incorporating the Joint Commission platform for evidence-based standards and CHAI’s consensus-based best practices for health AI. The organizations aim to create a roadmap for health care organizations to harness AI while supporting safety and generating trust. They will make the first guidance available in the fall, with the opportunity for health care organizations to become AI certified. The Coalition for Health AI is a clinician-founded nonprofit that has grown to 3,000 members to advance responsible health AI. (Joint Commission news release, 6/11/25)
