Joint Commission seeks comments on infection control requirements

The Joint Commission will accept comments until July 5 on its proposed infection control chapter requirements. The organization intends for the proposed requirements to replace the current infection control requirements for hospitals and critical access hospitals. It seeks to align these standards and elements of performance more closely with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ conditions of participation and to streamline the chapter to be more cohesive and concise.
