Joint Commission to host webinar on Serious Reportable Events List updates

The Joint Commission will host a webinar on key updates to the Serious Reportable Events List on March 3 from 1:00-2:15 p.m. ET. Speakers from the National Quality Forum will discuss a Joint Commission and National Quality Forum report, which provides the first update since 2011. The report aligns the Sentinel Events List with the updated Serious Reportable Events List to reduce duplication in safety event reporting. In addition, speakers will discuss how the report can support improved identification and reporting of Serious Reportable Events. The Joint Commission will adopt the updated Serious Reportable Events List as part of the Sentinel Events List on Jan. 1, 2027. Participants should register for the webinar in advance.
