Melnyk, Reinhard named AAN Living Legends

AONL members Bernadette Melnyk, PhD, RN, and Susan Reinhard, PhD, RN, received the American Academy of Nursing’s prestigious Living Legends award. Melnyk, professor and dean emeritus, The Ohio State University College of Nursing, Columbus, has created systems of change that lift nursing’s impact on population health, clinician well-being and the future of care delivery. Her research in advancing evidence-based practice has transformed health care education, quality, safety and policy. Reinhard, who served as senior vice president of the AARP Public Policy Institute, Washington, D.C., and chief strategist of the Center to Champion Nursing in America, is a transformative policy champion who has implemented and built strategic partnerships to advance the quality of care and quality of life for older adults, persons with disabilities and family caregivers.
