NCC commends Congress for nurse program funding in bipartisan spending bill

The Nursing Community Coalition thanked Congress for passing the bipartisan fiscal year 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services and Education bill (H.R. 7148). The legislation restored funding to critical federal nursing programs, including $305.472 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and $197.693 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research. The NCC notes the “incredible advocacy of those within the nursing community to fight for funding for these programs, particularly after proposed elimination.” Nursing advocates “helped showcase the value and impact these federal programs have in communities across the country, particularly in rural areas.” AONL is one of 64 members comprising the NCC. Detailed information about FY 2026 funding is available on the NCC website. (NCC letter, 2/6/26)
