NCC comments on nursing funding bill mark-up

The Nursing Community Coalition commended the Senate Appropriations Committee for funding Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and the National Institute of Nursing Research in its fiscal year 2026 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education bill. While a slight cut was proposed in Title VIII programs, the bill contains $303.47 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs, a $2 million decrease from FY 2024 levels; and $197.7 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research, flat with FY 2024 levels. The bill rejects a White House proposal to cut $18 billion in National Institutes of Health funding. The NCC pledged to work with Congress to ensure these programs are preserved and fully funded.
