NCC makes appropriations requests
AONL and 57 other Nursing Community Coalition members requested the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies to allocate at least $610 million for the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs and at least $215 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research in fiscal year 2027. The amounts are significantly higher than the administration’s FY 2027 budget proposal and represent an increase from the $303.472 million for Title VIII and $197.693 for the NINR the NCC requested in FY 2026. A record 102 representatives signed a bipartisan House of Representatives Dear Colleague letter aligning with the NCC’s request of $610 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in fiscal year 2027.
