NCC thanks congressional members for introducing SHARE Act
AONL and 47 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition thanked congressional members for introducing the bipartisan States Handling Access to Reciprocity for Employment Act (S. 1101/H.R. 2332) and encouraged passage this year. Sens. Peter Welch, D-Vt., Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., and Angus King, I-Maine, introduced the Senate version, and Reps. Tracey Mann, R-Kan., and Joe Neguse, D-Colo., introduced the House version. The SHARE Act would make technical corrections to current law to ensure states participating in interstate occupational licensure compacts receive criminal background check information through a smooth and efficient process. State licensing agencies sometimes encounter inconsistent roadblocks when requesting Federal Bureau of Investigation criminal background checks when vetting prospective licensees under an interstate compact.
