Pamela Austin Thompson Launches Legacy Match 2026 Challenge

AONL CEO Emeritus Pamela Austin Thompson is establishing the inaugural Pamela Austin Thompson Legacy Match Challenge to invest in the future of nurse leadership. She provided $8,999 to fund one AONL Fellowship scholarship and invites AONL Fellowship alumni, colleagues and friends to raise $36,000 to provide scholarships for four additional nurse leaders to participate in the Nurse Manager or Nurse Director Fellowship during the 2027-2028 program year. Thompson served as AONL CEO from 2004-2016. After she retired, AONL started the Pamela Austin Thompson Fellowship Scholarship to recognize her contributions to nursing leadership. The scholarship supports nurse leaders from small, rural and critical access healthcare organizations by expanding access to professional development opportunities that strengthen their leadership capabilities.
