Podcast features AONL transition-to-practice program in public health setting

In an AONL podcast, South Dakota’s health care leaders discuss how they are using an AONL transition-to-practice program to prepare front-line public health nurses to take on managerial and other leadership roles. They say AONL’s structured leadership development framework is strengthening South Dakota’s public health infrastructure. While the program is geared towards nurse leaders in acute care, they say it is enabling public health nurses to take a systematic approach to leadership, as well as to take core concepts and apply them to public health. They maintain leaders should be proactive in preparing front-line nurses to succeed in managerial roles.
