Report: CNO-CFO dyad partnerships enhance nursing workforce, value
AONL released a report underscoring how high functioning CNO-Chief Financial Officer partnerships can strengthen workforce stability, enable care model innovation and result in long-term financial sustainability. Capturing proceedings from the December 2025 CNO-CFO Dyad Dialogue of CNOs and Executive/CFO dyads from U.S. health systems, the report notes that several insights emerged during the discussions. Insights include how the CNO-CFO dyad strength often predicts organizational alignment and how workforce pathways and care model redesign are core financial levers. In addition, shared language and data are foundational to strong relationships. Executive alignment functions as a powerful cultural signal to the organization. The Healthcare Financial Management Association, Downers Grove, Ill., provided support for the meeting.
