Voice article explores creating a culture of inquiry

An article in the March issue of AONL’s Voice of Nursing Leadership explores how nurse leaders can create a culture of inquiry. Pivotal to organizational success, a culture of inquiry enables a workplace to foster inquisitiveness to stimulate and nurture communication, belonging, questioning, psychological safety, evidence, learning and innovation. The AONL 2022 Longitudinal Nursing Leadership Study found nurse leaders want a culture supporting innovation, a forum to connect with other leaders to promote ideas and implement them, and certainty that if staff make a mistake, they receive guidance instead of discipline. The article notes a commitment to a culture of inquiry starts at the highest levels of nursing leadership.
