AONL interviews yield insights for digital transformation

AONL committee members published insights gleaned from interviews with 18 nurse executives on digital transformation in their organizations, their evolving role and the support they need to succeed. Writing in Nurse Leader’s June issue, the authors identified six leadership behaviors nurse leaders need to shape digital care. Among these behaviors: Leaders should ensure nursing’s perspective is included in technology decisions; secure resources and infrastructure; strengthen digital literacy across the nursing workforce; and create environments where clinicians feel supported to test new approaches and learn from failure. AONL will develop a toolkit to translate these leadership behaviors into actionable guidance.
