The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services today approved a state plan amendment allowing North Carolina to extend postpartum coverage from 60 days to 12 months after pregnancy for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program enrollees under the American Rescue Plan Act. North Carolina joins 23 other states and Washington, D.C., in extending postpartum coverage under ARPA or through a Section 1115 Medicaid demonstration project.
