The Food and Drug Administration recently disclosed dozens of warning letters sent to drug companies that accuse them of using misleading or deceptive advertising. The disclosures follow the agency’s Sept. 9 announcement that it was sending thousands of warning letters to companies with misleading ads and 100 cease-and-desist letters to companies with deceptive ads. On Sept. 10, President Trump signed a memorandum directing the Department of Health and Human Services and the FDA to require drug companies to include full safety warnings in their consumer advertisements.
