CMS issues first report on states spending Rural Health Transformation Program funding
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Oct. 9 released its first report on how states are implementing funds from the Rural Health Transformation Program, which will distribute $50 billion to rural providers from fiscal year 2026 to FY 2030. The report covers the period from Dec. 29, 2025, to July 31, 2026. The report details how much each state has allocated for the first year of the program, which would be spent by September 2027.
