To reflect its commitment towards creating an environment inclusive of all nurse leaders, the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) announced today it is changing its name to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL). The revitalized brand includes using a new tagline: Education. Advocacy. Community.
“For more than 50 years, our organization has provided innovative professional development, advocacy and research to advance the nursing leadership specialty nationwide,” AONE Chief Executive Officer Robyn Begley, DNP, said during its Annual Meeting in San Diego. “The American Organization for Nursing Leadership more fully represents those we serve—a diverse network of nurse leaders, working at all levels across the care continuum.”
The new tagline encapsulates AONL’s core initiatives supporting its mission of shaping health care through innovative and expert nursing leadership. Under its new brand, AONL will continue to provide professional development for nurse leaders, advocate for public policy issues related to patient care and nursing, and create an inclusive community for nurses at every stage of their leadership journey. “While our name and brand are changing, our core mission remains the same,” said Begley. “As we look toward the future, AONL will continue to lead the transformation of health care as the voice for all nurse leaders.” The organization will officially launch the AONL brand in May 2019.
As the national professional organization of more than 9,800 nurse leaders, the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) is the voice of nursing leadership in health care. Our membership encompasses nurse leaders working in hospitals, health systems, academia and other care settings across the care continuum.
