Belonging in the In-Between: Cultivating Third Places for Patients and Providers
Health care environments are often designed for efficiency, but healing and resilience also depend on connection and belonging. “Third places” — spaces outside of home and work where people gather and connect — can strengthen both patient and provider well-being.
In this microlearning, you’ll explore what third places are and how they support community health and health care resilience. You’ll learn how thoughtful partnerships and space design can expand capacity during emergencies, reduce stress and isolation and foster a deeper sense of belonging.
You’ll also gain practical insight into how nurse leaders can begin prototyping third-place concepts in and around their organizations to support healing and human connection.
