AHA recognizes award-winning hospitals, health systems

The American Hospital Association presented three awards during its 2026 Leadership Summit. Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, Ore., received the 2026 Foster G. McGaw Prize for Excellence in Community Service. The hospital’s partnerships with local organizations include providing healthy, local food to people in need, encouraging youth to join healthcare professions, and promoting physical activity and wellness. The Ralph H. Johnson VA Health System in Charlotte, N.C. received the 2026 Quest for Quality Prize. The Erie County Medical Center of Buffalo, N.Y., and the Geriatrics and Extended Care Hospice and Palliative Medicine Team of Orlando VA Health Care System in Orlando, Fla., received the 2026 Circle of Life Award, recognizing outstanding programs in palliative and end-of-life care.
