House passes AHA-supported hospital-at-home extension bill
The House passed the Hospital Inpatient Services Modernization Act (H.R. 4313), legislation extending certain Medicare waivers authorizing the hospital-at-home care program for five years. In September, the American Hospital Association expressed support for the bill, which was introduced by Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.). Sen. Tim Scott (D-S.C.) has introduced companion legislation. The government shutdown paused funding for the hospital-at-home program. Under the continuing resolution passed in November, waivers for program were extended through Jan. 30, 2026.
