Kingston to receive AHA Award of Honor

Mary Beth Kingston, PhD, RN, will receive the American Hospital Association’s 2025 Award of Honor May 5 during the organization’s annual membership meeting in Washington, D.C. Kingston is a former AONL board president who retired in 2024 as senior vice president and CNO of Advocate Health, Charlotte, N.C. She led efforts to reduce violence against the health care workforce through the AHA and federal government and published extensively on workplace violence reduction and workforce well-being. In addition, Kingston continually fostered the professional growth of nurses serving under her leadership, many of whom have become CNEs. Last year, Kingston received the AONL Lifetime Achievement Award and the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award. (AHA news release, 4/29/25)
