Nurse leaders leverage technology to improve operations

Nurse leaders can use technological advancements to schedule staffing more efficiently, improve clinical outcomes, reduce human error, track data and enhance well-being. Examples include care teams using an app with an interpreter to communicate more effectively with patients who speak a language other than English. Smart bandages and sensors can aid care teams to better monitor wounds. In early February, Wildflower Health, a women’s health solutions company in San Francisco, and Healthcare Transformation Consortium, a partnership of independent health systems in New Jersey, launched a statewide value-based maternity care initiative. The partnership will enable providers to access digital health resources, including education, virtual visits and remote patient monitoring tools. (HealthLeaders Media article, 2/17/23)
