Nursing survey suggests courier errors affect care

A survey of 353 nurses revealed missed and delayed deliveries of test samples and supplies is widespread, with 87% of respondents saying it affects their work on a weekly basis, and 71% saying courier delays and errors affect their ability to provide patient care at least once a month. A third of respondents reported creating a "secret stash" of supplies, and 27% said they personally transported an item to another facility in the past year to overcome courier issues. The survey was conducted by the American Nurse Journal. (BusinessWire news release, 5/3/22)
