Study identifies positive practice environment research priorities

The top research priorities for developing positive practice environments are “building and maintaining shared governance participation” and “nurse participation in performance improvement and evidence-based practice activities,” according to a study. Published in the April issue of the Journal of Nursing Administration, the study sought to develop research priorities for positive practice environments identified by Pathway to Excellence leaders and appraisers. The authors developed research topics related to the six Pathway to Excellence standards and then asked leaders at Pathway to Excellence-designated organizations and Pathway to Excellence appraisers to rate the topics for importance.
