Survey: Despite challenges, nurses still glad they chose nursing

In a Medscape survey of 10,700 nurses in the summer of 2021, 90% of respondents said they were glad they had chosen nursing as a profession, despite reporting dissatisfaction with many aspects of their jobs during the pandemic. Even among nurses who reported they regretted their career choice, a majority said they would choose another career within the profession. Workplace violence and the emotional toll of losing patients and loved ones to COVID-19 were common stressors captured by the survey. (Medscape article, 12/29/21)
