Blog explores how to address burnout

Hospitals and health systems need to implement organizational or systemic interventions to improve the work environment to address burnout, according to an American Hospital Association blog. The blog, authored by Elisa Arespacochago, AHA vice president of clinical affairs and workforce, and Michael Privitera, MD, professor emeritus of psychiatry, University of Rochester Medical Center, describes the prevalence of burnout in the wake of the pandemic. “Burnout is both avoidable and reversible when hospitals and health systems are willing to take the steps to grow a culture in which every worker has access to ways to decrease stress,” they write.
