Mayo Clinic boosts nursing hires through partnership

The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla., partnered with Jacksonville University to expand a one-year accelerated nursing program to meet the need for nurses. The 12-month second degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program enables qualified individuals who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another field to earn a BSN degree in one year. The partnership ─ the third Jacksonville University has launched with a health care facility ─ is part of a growing trend of hospitals forming partnerships with colleges to address the need for nurses.
