Most people should be able to get fall vaccinations
People who want to get COVID and flu vaccines and older adults who want an RSV vaccine should be able to get them this season. Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vacillations about the COVID vaccine, the CDC’s updated fall immunization schedule is similar to last year’s schedule. The main difference is that before receiving a COVID vaccine, people need to have a conversation with their provider, which can include a pharmacist or other health professional administering the shot. The CDC recommends the RSV vaccine for everyone over age 75 and for people between the ages of 50 and 74 who have a medical condition putting them at risk for severe disease. People meeting the criteria can get the vaccine at a pharmacy. (KFF News article, 10/22/25)
