Nurse managers wanted for workforce focus group

AONL invites nurse managers and other leaders who directly manage front-line staff to participate in a focus group on the nurse manager role. The AONL research team will evaluate the impact of leading a unit experiencing high turnover (defined as above 22%, which is the national average) on the manager’s role. The research team also will look at how team-based care delivery models affect the manager’s role. Team-based models could include team nursing, virtual nursing or other hybrid approaches with more than one team member delivering patient care. Participants should be in their role for at least a year and lead units with either high turnover or using team-based models. Interested participants should contact Rose Sherman, EdD, RN, professor emeritus at Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton.
