PCORI announces $208 million in grants

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute this week announced funding awards of $208 million to support 17 comparative effectiveness research studies. One large randomized controlled trial will compare the delivery of palliative care led by specialists versus trained general care practitioners to seriously ill hospitalized patients. Another large randomized trial will analyze the impact of annual wellness visits alone versus adding an integrated care model involving interprofessional teams and at-home visits among older adults with complex health care needs. Additional details about the studies are available on PCORI’s website. (PCORI news release, 7/18/23)
