Senate bill addresses health disparities

Sens. Cory Booker, D-N.J., and Rev. Raphael Warnock, D-Ga., introduced the Health Equity and Accountability Act (S.4486). The comprehensive legislation would help to reduce racial and ethnic health inequities by strengthening the collection of data for historically underrepresented populations to evaluate health disparities and inform health equity policies. It would also improve health workforce diversity and access to care, among other provisions. Rep. Robin Kelly, D-Ill., introduced companion legislation earlier this year.
